I was just reading your input on a forum thread about anime and found myself agreeing with you on just about everything you said. It's refreshing to find a sequential artist around here who doesn't have a Japan fetish.

For really intelligent converstations about sequential art, you should stop by *justthorne's page and introduce yourself. He isn't a comic artist, but he does have the actual first page of Understanding Comics hanging on his wall. He bought it from Scott McCloud.

Yep, it's hanging framed and proudly right above my workstation...

It seemed to be the only page to buy (when I found out pages were for sale) because it's the only page of the book that's completely self-contained and autonomous, and, at the same time, humbly sums up the breadth of the book...

I was STUNNED when I "got there" and it was still for sale. (Though I guess he appreciated its particular value too, cause it was priced relatively highly compared to many others...)

Anyway, I'll be spending a lot more time with you later on (from home) - just popping by for the moment!
