What we understand when we say "reality" is indeed an amalgamation of our perceptions, which in turn are made up of both our pure senses and their affect on our psychological state (e.g. emotional responses and associative links with our memories). This means the way we perceive is as much a reflection of the phenomenal world around us as it is a reflection of ourselves and our psychology.
Dreams are the product of the prolonged and focussed exertion of the imagination, which recreates reality in whichever way the process of psychological association finds most appropriate, which importantly could be by emotional association as much as it could be by sense association. This means that while dreaming our experiences are likely to be conducted by our emotions, and not the other way around as is the case with waking life. This means that the truths we may discover while dreaming are ones informing us more of our emotions instead of the external world.
I know...me too...and I'm looking at sanity from the other side already.

You want my two cents? Here goes:

Have fun with that.
Its better to welcome you on your actual page than on a forum.

Meeting a Zen master on the road,
Face him neither with words nor silence.
Give him an uppercut
And you will be called one who understands Zen.
