Happy Birthday!
Thank you for the really, really sweet note in response to my journal. It's early still, and I have a number of cards to play before my career here at Boeing is over, I'll not go quietly into the night! I have a number of possible opportunities, so I've got my fingers crossed. On the other hand, I've been aware that being outsourced was a possibility for several years (only hoped it would happen so quickly!). I've been holding onto enough of my income to tide me over, in case of hard times. Part of me wants to be laid off, just to take an extended vacation (but my wife wouldn't be very happy with that!). Part of me says, it's time to move on and seek a new challenge. And then there's the part of me that scared shitless at the prospect of being without a stable income....Yes, I am hard fast on staying in Western Washington, I would not like the idea of leaving my wife behind (she wouldn't move unless Seattle became a radioactive wasteland, so....)
Thank you again! I really, really appreciated your note, very special.
I'm confident that something will come along - I even have vague hopes of that magical brass ring (if that comes to fruition, I'll be sure to let you know).
