A few things you need to know on DA. Well you already know how to watch somebody; so that's good.
Okay, if you see a piece you like you can it and it will go into your favourites gallery. If you want to comment on a piece scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a comment box. Then you just type in there!
If you want to write a journal, you can do it via your mainpage, or you can click on the little deviantART symbol next to your name.
Speaking of journals, lets talk about how to get them to look pretty:
Okay, well CSS is for suscribers of deviantART only (for now). It costs $19 to suscribe to deviantART to get all the stuff. But don't suscribe unless your really serious about deviantART. (Somebody suscribed me, so yay!)
Now unsuscribed people can do some html in they're journal.
for bold text you go:
< b > text here </b > *WITHOUT THE SPACES!*
and for italic you go:
< i > text here </b >
*WITHOUT THE SPACES!*
for underlined it is:
< u > text here </u >
*WITHOUT THE SPACES!*
So basically like that.
Then there is subscript and superscript.
I like subscript ^^
To do them:
for subscript: < sub > text here
for superscript: < sup > text here
*WITHOUT THE SPACES!*
That is some of the html coding everyone should use!
Okay, now to submit a piece it is like submitting a journal entry. Just go to the little dA symbol, or go to your mainpage. And then you chose the category and the image etcetc.. Then you can write stuff on the piece in the little box.
I suspose I should tell you about replying to comments and thanking people for 's and 's. Now not everyone thanks people. But it is polite. And I like to do it...(even though I have over 300 M messages...and about 200+ comments...)
To reply:
Just hit the reply button on the comment. easy
To thank people:
You may send a note, but it is more hassle. It is easiest just to go to they're mainpage and leave them a comment there.
Um. I think I am covering everything.
OH, Let me talk about emoticons.
Emoticons are what make the world go around.
Here is someone's average message:
"Hey there! Thank you for commenting and faving my piece! Have a good day"
BUT HERE IT IS! EMOTICONIZED:
"Hey there! Thank you for commenting and ing my piece! Have a good day "
To do an emoticon you type :emoticonnamehere:
Say an emoticon is named "love"
you type :love : *WITHOUT THE SPACE!* and then when the space is taken away it appears as: ""
There is the emoticon legend that is found on all comments. And there is 100's of emoticons on dA for you to use and abuse.
Okay another thing for me to talk about it browsingandsearching.
How else are we gonna find cool Twilight fanart if we don't search!? At the top of the dA page there is the search bar and it works like google pretty much. Then there will be things of all things that have "twilight"as a keyword or whatever you type in as a keyword.
Browsing:
To browse just hit the "Browse" button above the search bar, and it'll take you to the most recent of everything. Then you can choose a gallery, the popularity, etcetc..
Okay, I THINK I covered everything. If you need any help just message me or something and I'll do the best I can to help.
Just click that link there and it'll take you to the FAQ.
(To send a FAQ link just do this:
:faq###: (### represents the FAQ number))
OH! One last thing: To do someone's icon like this:
just type:
:icondeviantnamehere:
And to do a hotlink with they're name do this:
*Khokolotte
:devdeviantnamehere:
NP! SO pretty! Edward looks just how I pictured him! Only a little dakrer! It's way cool! Yeah I'm new! XD is it hard to belive? lol thanks DA is a really cool place!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
