thanks very much, feel free to make comments. also starting to take notes of making more realistic planets. doing the maps of the drawing is but getting it spherized is another thing to work out 
What program do you use? I can't remember how to make them like I do off by heart, so I follow a tutorial with my own settings.
In Photoshop, spherize is Filters > Distort > Spherize

photoshop element I use to do that, at first I had no idea but after a few days of practice and some help I gotten the hang of it. Already making a planet but more of a map so I could give you the heads up if you like.
