k plz someone gimme some tips on my shading

u want some tips on your shading......erm use a pencil that smudges.....and on outlines of faces do a thicker line and smudge it, i used to do a lot of [ractice by drawing circles and making them 3D, thats a good start, then try different shapes like cones and stuff, that wil help you a lot!! i promise!! good luck xxx

hmm.. i tried the shapes, it does help a lot, but when it somes to portraits and stuff like that my shading is still a bit off. MAybe i need to practice more often or study some other works a little. Yes i did the decarations, came off perfect, best prank the school had seen in five years, too bad i got in trouble though i forgot to tell the principal about it

lol what kind of decorations did you do?? did you trake pics?? you should now try making a still life in your room you know lots of bottles and odd shaped things and shine a light from one angle on it that will help too it will help you grip the aspect of light direction and shading it helped me alot

some of the pics i did a double exposure to create the ghost effects then ran it as a slideshowin a dark room iwth a for machine, it had this kool 2 dimensional look to it . I mixed pics negatives
i did one with where i left out the blues, and one where i left out the reds to give a domonic type effect. All of this i used a series of projectors and strobe lights. God it was fun, grown men screaming like little girls, a few peops fainted. It'll be really hard for anyone to outdo that prank.

i tried sketching bottles lamps a few porciline figures to get a better grasp on tone, its working a bit but my original art work still looks retarded. When i copy other artists stuff and rework it its not a problem i already have basic guideline for tonne and shape so its easy to use that as a reference, but when i tried to do a sketch of my friend it came out looking lik i closed my eyes and went mad with a pencil. I'll post it up later tonight maybe u can take a look at it.

yea sure i will easily take a look at it, no problem. drawing humans from life is quite difficualt as you have to capture emotion i find it very difficult thats why all my people drawings are out of my head and the dont show their faces, i cant draw faces
