how in the heck does your stuff look so real. please give me a brief(or not so breif, a-thank-u) tutorial on how you do what you do, much apriciated. im now a fan
Much obliged, although as far as my work, I still have a far way to go.
About my work looking real, it really just comes down to being meticulous on the textures, I try to see if the texture is just right in close up and from far away. It also helps researching on whatever you're trying to draw, like if you need to create something with fur, I first google a bunch of high quality images of different types of fur, then I use them as reference as I move along.
I usually use Adobe Illustrator to create a simple line art, to make sure my proportions look right and just the basic composition. I usually create a custom brush and draw with my wacom tablet.
After I finish my line art, I copy and paste it on a new file in Photoshop.
Then start working on the image in pieces. Each piece of an image gets its own layer folder and worked separately. For example, I need to create a tree branch. I create a new layer just for the tree branch, then I trace the shape of the branch I drew in my line art using a pen tool.
After I finish the shape I transform it into a selection and fill it in with a basic color. Then I just use that basic shape as the base and add in colors and details on top of it as a layer mask. I mostly just switch between the basic airbrush and the blending tool for coloring. In coloring, I start from either the light or the medium color, then I blend in the darker colors after. I just basically work my way with each piece until I finish my illustration.
I apologize if my short tutorial is confusing. I really learned most of what I know from other photoshop tutorials and applied them on my own. I hope I helped you in some way, and I'll try to explain my methods with each posting.
well, i havn't made anything for a long time, i have moslty been writing music(trying) and playing guitar, should i do more 3d or should i draw, what do you think i should do? more kingdom hearts?
