Ah, that explains the quality ^_^;
Well, I'm sure you've heard of Adobe Photoshop. That programme is pretty useful for this kinda stuff. Most people use it to do their artwork, but I'm not huge on that kinda stuff. I just use Photoshop to fix up scanner crap-outs.
If you want, I could probably clean those pics up for you. ^_^

As for the not losing the comments, just open the page with the images, click the "Edit" button that's under it ((it looks like a paper with a pencil on it)), and when it give the option to choose which part you want to edit, click "the image". Click "Browse", select the new image ((file name doesn't matter, if it's the same as before or whatever)), and update.
