LOL.. i understand, this is a Greek think... here is what i meant: here in Greece people celebrate at least twice a year. One is our birthday and second is our named day. Greek names are taken from Christianity from Holy People, and those Holy People have specific days into their year that we Greek honor them. For example for Holy Mary mother of Jesus, is 15 Aug.... so every girl with the name Maria or Marry and the and every boy with the name Marios (masculine form for Maria) are also celebrate that day. We give wishes, sometimes buy presents, people who celebrate share sweets or cakes... it's like a birthday but not really birthday... and we call it "named day" (because is actually our names that celebrates)
Sometimes and for some names there are more than one day, Example Maria again.. is 15 Aug bit also 21 Oct.. and some names celebrate specific dates into the year, some others not
like my named day...
I can celebrate twice in the year, one is always at 17 Dec and the other day has no specific date because it's the Friday After Easter (and we don't celebrate Easter same date every year...) Friday after Easter is the day of the "Life Giving Spring" and my name is Ζωή (Zoi) means life in Greek.... so tomorrow it's my "named day" and i celebrate as well!!! :D
People already stared giving me wishes because the time changed :)

hope that explained your confusion!

Now I totally understand. Thank you very much for the explanation. "Life", what a beautiful meaning for a name... ^^
