I actually do kinda like both shows because MLP is a good (not as amazing as people say it is, there were some episodes that were actually horrible) cartoon and it's cute and funny and the older Thomas series have such beautiful music, artistic and colourful model sets, great moments, George f***ing Carlin, etc
but I think the bronies do it either because they think they're so special and want another fandom to antagonize, or because they want to feel better about themselves cause they were probably criticized themselves for liking MLP.
If they are feeling guilty, then they just need to let it go cause people will always be jerks, but if they're trying to put themselves above the Thomas fans and act like MLP is for everyone, then they're just another example of why bronies have such a bad rep due to their superiority complex.
