SUP DYLAN.

So Epexsus update? Anymore screen shots? A dare I say sneak peek? Maybe a percentage update? 65% 90% 10%?!? Throw us a bone man!

So I'm just going to ask Epexsus questions often if you don't mind.

First question(s)?. This one might be self expainatory but

Are the characters speaking english for our convenience or are they speaking a different language? I ask because the writing on some objects and the clock have strange symbols. If it is a different language what do you call it? Does every tribe have a different dialect?

Hey!

I'm trying to release screen shots as I go along! So if I feel like theres something screenshot worthy I'll put it in a journal! Hmm, percentage... anywhere from 60% to 70%. The end of the year release is seeming more unlikely at this point but I'm still doing as much as I can. On the bright side, there will be another comic update in a day or two!

Hahah, that's fine.

The vast majority of people(not not necessarily all) who populate Epexsus to this day are actually descendants of Americans, who started populating the planet thousands of years prior to Makota's lifetime. They actually ARE speaking English. However, the visual alphabet was changed along with the languages name, even though the grammar is the same. The reasons for this and the names themselves I'll be explaining later on. There are just a few other languages spoken in the world. But the majority of the worlds population speaks English with mostly the same dialect. ;)

Cool cool good to know! Thanks for answering!

Another question(s), The world of Epexsus is mostly populated by people in tribes On a map of the world that i saw awhile ago it showed where all the tribes were located, where do the Citys fall under? Do they not ally themselves with any Tribe? Do they try to stay away from them as much as possible? They appear really high advance (I'm mostly referring to the City lights animation you made) compared to Makota's stone brick village, That's mostly made up of Hunter Gatherers. What does it take to be born into that society? What's life like for them since they probably don't have to worry about hunting for food or being attacked by rival tribes everyday.

No problem!

The cities are neutral to the tribes around them, they're populated by people all shapes and sizes who come from various tribes, however, the cities, as you'd expect them to, have a high crime and violence rate amongst the streets, and are a lot less safe to live in compared to living in a tribal village (in most cases). Not to mention, groups of people and sometimes even tribes, the more corrupt ones, will attempt to overthrow the government of those cities or worse. So they're definitely not the safe haven that people tend to make it out to be (who have never been to one).

The cities are indeed large, usually have a pretty good economy and are usually much more technologically advanced than most tribes, they have things like hospitals or even small-time food shops or other businesses, but it costs a lot to actually live there and living off the food purchased from around the cities is likely to cost even more. Not to mention it's much more dangerous than being in a village where everyone knows everyone. On the streets you could get mugged or even killed rather easily, and they're aren't many kind souls who will spring into action to help you, so you can't rely on that either.

The Akimura tribe (home of Makota and the rest of the Epexsus gang) happens to be very self sufficient. (While some tribes make it by on nothing but city food) They get their own food, they have their own technologies, are quite wealthy, and have well trained guards who have kept the tribe and its people safe for decades. In the Epexsus world it's considered pretty foolish of someone or even several people to walk into that tribe expecting to rob them of something or to overthrow it, your usually expected to be killed on the spot if you decline the chances they give you to leave and never come back. The only exception in this case would be if the said tribe invader had advanced weaponry, which, as you saw in Epexsus Episode 1, Scar's got that pretty much covered. The Akimurans often use their money to trade with cities, sometimes their extra food for things like medicine or in rare cases building materials, whatever they need and what would be easier and more efficient just buying instead of doing it/making it themselves. They know how to survive and know how the world works, which is why they're considered one of the worlds best and most respected tribes, and also how they've gotten by for so long without being destroyed. Not to mention they're often open minded and not prone to making enemies of people or groups.

The people of Akimura village and most other tribes view city people as snobby high-life fools, and people who live in cities generally view tribal people as low-life peasants. The village life is simply not for some people, some people prefer or even love the cities, and vice-versa. It just depends on where you come from.

The city in the city lights animation and Makota being there is based on an old concept and not actually canon, you COULD say that's how its visualized in people's heads when they think of what cities are like if they've never been to one, like Makota for instance, but he, and those people would be in for a wake-up call if they actually went to one, it's a bit different. That concept in particular is based on early 2009's version of Epexsus where EVERYONE actually lived in cities instead of villages, including Makota and the gang. That's what the cities and Makota's living conditions were initially supposed to look like! :D Some hopefully interesting Epexsus trivia for ya!

If you made it through that vast wall of text, than good job! Have yourself a cookie! :D

I'm currently enjoying a cookie as I reply to this.

Thank you for such a detailed answer, I imagined the city's to be like an oasis, like there was some crime but it was worth the risk. I'm excited to see them appear later in the show and see how they interact with everything. (if they do appear hopefully) I personally would prefer the city life, small towns where everyone knows each other never suited me.

So yeah! Awesome thanks again. You've been cool with answering my annoying questions.
