Hey you see Fury yet? Seems right up your alley.

It is preposterous that I haven't yet. Feels like they made it just for me. Kinda hate going to movie theatres tho. I prefer watching stuff w/ a drink in one hand, and the other petting my dog. But Fury is as close as anything can get to booting my ass into a theater.

Have you seen it?
Yup oh and did you know that, as well as using a genuine Sherman though the wrong model, they managed to get an actually Tiger tank. It's the first time a genuine Tiger 1 is used in a contemporary war film. Specifically the Tiger 131 if you were wondering. The Sherman was a M4A2E8, while M4A3E8s were more in use by that point in the war. Though it could be that the crew have been around long enough that their still using a previous model it is supposed to be a M4A3E8. So wanna talk about the movie if so hopefully I won't spoil anything.

It is pretty awesome that they have an actual Tiger in action, and not just a replica! That is worth the price of admission alone IMO. Good catch on the Sherman model. I'd ascribe to your theory that the crew's Sherman was slightly out of date. Not impossible that a more obsolete model would be used to buff out the ranks. And I could imagine the crew having that affinity for it. They are supposed to be veterans of several campaigns, right? In reality, any tank crew or commander having survived the war for any length of time would likely go through several vehicles like my kids go through shoes.

I can totally appreciate your desire to gush about the movie. As soon as I see it, you'll know! Probably will write a journal to fish for everyone's opinion.
