I got the name 'Purple Carrot' from my obsession with them after I read an artical in my brother's 'National Geographic Kids' (Yes, I do read that) about purple carrots, and how the purple color is caused by packing it with minerals and vitamins. I think they have people eat them in hospitals if they're very sick...
