well I probably won't be doing a colored version of him for a loooooong time. the spyro series is one of the last few franchises I ever bother to go back to tbh.
How come? I'm just curious.
I personally find the Spyro series (especially the original trilogy) to be kinda . . . meh. I mean I like the first one a lot, but the 2nd and 3rd game just make me feel tired after about 15/30 minutes of play. The only Spyro game I'll happily go back to is A Hero's Tail or the 1st game, but every other game in the franchise I'll probably just pass on unless I somehow get REEEEALLY in the mood for it.
I've barely touched on the Legend of Spyro series with the exception of the first game, and Skylanders pretty much came at a point where I'm in the mindset that I'm too old for that shit. that said I was probably in the minority that didn't entirely mind Spyro's new look in that game xD

Spyro: A Hero's Tail is a good game but it doesn't hold a candle to the first three Spyro games. To the majority of the fanbase, the first three Spyro games were considered to be the best of the best and the golden age of Spyro games. I completely stopped buying Spyro games for good after Spyro: A Hero's Tail and Spyro: Shadow Legacy. As for The Legend of Spyro trilogy and the Skylanders series, they can fuck themselves for all I care for raping and butchering my childhood. 
They can die in a hellhole for all I care. 
As you can tell, I obviously have a strong hatred for the awfully retarded reboots. Furthermore, reboots tend to turn out shit anyway. Therefore, artwork and written work based on The Legend of Spyro trilogy and the Skylanders series are strictly forbidden in my 
group.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly ain't so bad but it could have been better and so much more. The only good things about it are the voice acting and the soundtrack.

eh I'm just in that minority that really doesn't care that much for the original Spyro Trilogy (again, save for the first game). I still prefer A Hero's Tail over the others if only cuz I felt it had the best production values and played the most stellar. Sure the writing probably weren't as good as the original trilogy, but even then I can't even remember if there were any real good bits in the trilogy either.
but that's just me anyway. overall I'd be lying if I said I were a big Spyro fan. I'll take Crash over him any day xD
