Thanks. FoxNews.com is where I do most of my political reading, but I probably get most of my information from conservative talk radio. Names like Chris Baker, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage come to mind. Obviously, these shows are slanted -- they just so happen to be slanted towards views that usually (but definitely not always) agree with mine.
Through the art that I have submitted thus far, I'm not really denouncing anything. I'm asserting my views. Here's a quick synopsis:
"W.M.D. - The Ace of Spades" is stating my belief that we have in face uncovered a weapon of mass destruction in Iraq. That, of course, being Saddam Hussein.
"Superior Firepower" conveysmy belief that while we should strive towards peace, military action is required to take certain steps that will promote peace and liberty in the long run.
"Ron Reagan" is meant to be satirical of the Che Guiverra images we often see. I really do not like the socialist or communist mentality. However, I can't take credit for the image used in that wallpaper. It's taken from thoseshirts.com. [link]
Finally, "Light the Fires" is just meant to show how much the movie Top Gun rules.
By asserting our views, we are denouncing something, aren’t we? I mean, we have so voluntarily chosen to create a world that is divided.
Before when I said that the problem was that the weapons of mass destruction were used, I meant the fact that Saddam had the physical (military and weapon-wise) to destroy his own people and the fact that he actually did use them was more of a problem than anything else. Personally, I don't see HIM being the problem, as he is human as we all are, just like Hitler and Stalin and as such.
and yea, I agree with the fact that justice and liberty sometimes requires military action and harsh punishment- although the 'peace' part is something i would differ with.
you sound like you would make the perfect soldier, heh. ^_^
Yeah, you're right about the asserting and denouncing thing. They definitely go together. I see Saddam being the problem because he was the one that ordered the death and destruction. Anyway, thanks for what you said in that last line...I appreciate the compliment.
Nice to see another person who's not Anti-American. I'm sick of all these "u.s. R teh nasi's taekin over teh wurld!!11 lol OMG!!111one" comments and deviations.
"I see Saddam being the problem because he was the one that ordered the death and destruction."
Don't forget it was you guys who sold him the nice fancy weapond of mass destruction which he used on Iranian and Iraqi civilians. He wouldn't have had the capacity for death and destruction without a cosy relationship with good ol' USA. Nuclear weapons are as American as apple pie dontcha know?
Actually we sold him a lot of actual chemicals and biological weapons for germ warfare, including anthrax and phosgene. But we did give him a lot of info on how to build things as well..
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
