Probably because people decided to come to his profile and bitch at him about a decision he didn't make. Have you seen some of the comments on staff profiles lately? danlev, poor thing, had someone telling him a week before his birthday that they hated him - for no apparent reason.
And don't get me started on the mess on spyed's account. But his comments section always looks like the sewers of DA spit their vomit on his shores, so I imagine if they ever implemented the "turn off page comments" suggestion that's been making the rounds for a while, he'd be one of the first to turn it off. Who the hell wants to log in to any site to see that type of vitriol?
