Weave me a story of the Berlin wall and Russian faeries, dancing teacups and grass skirts. Make it sink in like the oxygen and gravity. How open is the universe? It stares down at the street and points me out. The stars look and the planets revolve. It’s Christmas and Easter on Halloween, Valentine’s on my birthday. Posters on my wall and a peacock feather in a mug. I’ve got chimes and dream catchers, incense and Buddhas, doorknobs, candles and a dozen kites. I fly them out and catch dragonflies on the way home. I am immortal. I make myself invisible and harness lightning in a jar. I have orange juice and popsicles for brunch and a glass of rain before i dream. I twirl under the moonlight and laugh with falling stars, spill my tears on a photograph and keep my secrets in a box. It’s under the bed, sometimes on the window sill; often in the sink and rarely in the kitchen. I make faces out of stone, stories from the trees and perfume out of coconuts. I swim under waterfalls and chase rivers to the sea. I listen to sea shells, jump with a rope and have ten stones all named Jack. I’ve love triangles in my pocket and trysts in my phonebook. I drink coffee in Belize, take swims in Micanos and sometimes plant exotic shrubs in the Tsumeb rainforests in Africa. I've sold bracelets in Calcutta, had my pictures developed in Doha and played the bongos for a Djajabutian prince in Paris. I stripe cars, vault balconies and sleep for twelve and a half hours at a time. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fork and a teaspoon and i do not know how to fold paper airplanes.
