Japan is a lovely, wonderful country with oodles of things to do and see and experience. It's a traveler's paradise and no matter how much stuff you cram into your trip, it will always feel like you've left too soon. 
That being said, it's a country just like any other country and there are good things and bad things about it just like the US or any other place. I left Japan at a time of high frustration (for reasons that have more to do with me and my particular situation than the country itself) so sometimes my stories aren't what people want to hear. ^_^;;
That being said, I do want to go back and live there again. So I hope that answers your questions?
