Wow, worst road trip ever! From Baghdad to Kuwait, well paved roads to gravel and dust. No end to the dust.
Fortunately nothing happened like, getting shot at or stuff exloding, so the worst I had to deal with was a lousy driver and HOURS AND HOURS of nothing.

Whoa! That's some trip! O_O I'm glad you made it out of there unscathed. But still..what an experience. I"m jealous! ^_^
Ah, don't be jealous, it could have been so much worse. As it happened the worst of it was the convoy going through eight tires (!), keeping a close watch on a vehicle full of locals that was pacing up and down our line 100 meters fronm the road (very suspicious), and a batch of locals trying to sell us whisky, counterfeit Dinar and hasheesh at one stop. Other than that I was toasty in my body armor in the triple-digit weather, and even drinking water constantly I managed to lose a few pounds during the trip.
In less than a week I should be back Germany, then to the states for a few weeks.

Whhooooaaa. So what are you DOING over there anyway? I know you're not visiting for tourist reasons...so could that mean that *GASP!* Muller is in the ARMY?! Regardless, it sounds like quite an ordeal. Good luck!
Yes I am. And I made it as much of a tourist event as possible, burning through over 20 rolls of film since December, and picking up some souveniers. Fortunately I won't be back there for almost a year.
