Any particular reason why you don't recommend Spybot? At the time I installed it several reliable sources recommended it so I installed it and use it (along with AdAware).

I work in IT as well and know how important it is to keep on top of what's happening on your PC
I'll certainly use some of the links you have provided...
I have used AntiVir in the past, but it only lasted for 6 months or so.. i'm using F-secure at the moment (came from Windows recommended list [link]) , but will look at AVG next...
I wouldn't use Spybot - the lastest version had a tendency to disable my firewall !!

I'm naturally suspicious. I've had to uninstall it several times from customers' machines because of problems. I don't need anything other than AdAware and AVG, and my own tools for the nasties.

It hasn't caused me any problems so far, at least none that I'm aware of, but that doesn't have to mean anything.
