I hear you. I feel like that too a lot of times. I guess it would be harder for a man, who culturally feels like he needs to provide. I have to provide for myself and 2 children, but "someday" I hope to be married with more income, etc.

It's happening here too. Kids really make you look forward much more warily, on all the scales... economic, security, environmental... wah. I'm about to build a house... it sacres me to death to get into that sort of debt with the world the way it is right now. But it scares me more to think if I don't, I may have nothing to leave for my little girl but a burden.

don't be scared. life doesn't have to be handed to your kids of a silver platter, most of us turn out okay paying for our own educations et al.
