I also keep paintings that I find amazing in a folder. Going trough it the other day, I realized how many of the ones I considered 'amazing' weren't good at all x]

I've surpassed those people but now I compare myself to greater artists and again, I say I suck.

I take it as part of the learning process.

Mmm, so true Wow, your intellectual journals are like candy- very, very sweet And I know what you mean about those that dont want to learn and only want praise. I remember leaving a comment on one girls drawing that it was really good and what I liked about it but when I mentioned something that looked slightly off to me (it could have even not been off, it was just my opinion) she totally went off me

I was like Fine, its your art

But yeah, good thing I like learning new things in the art department because I want to improve way more than I did this year (which I think was a lot) My teachers always complain that if I tried half as hard in their classes as I do in art I'd be acing all the tests

If i could this journal, i would. Really. This is just the sort of inspiration i need. I think many artists compare themselves to others and angst about how they're not as good as them, or can't do things like they can, lord knows i do. So really, i needed to read this. It helped alot =]
