God, the most frustrating thing about this whole situation is that your actual ORIGINAL work is fan-fucking-tastic. I know you say lesson learned, but I hope to freaking god you're absolutely serious. You're gonna GO places girl, if you pull your weight and do it the -right- way.

But at the same time.. take your licks. You got only what you asked for. Take it all with a grain of salt. -LEARN- and grow from the experience.

Devious Comments

i read all the comments on the other journal before posting this so i wouldn't skim over anything.

i have to say, i've seen a lot of people being accused of tracing. in your case, it was true. i believe that partially, it was a mistake, but i think you can grow and learn from your mistakes; part of it was a poor choice as well, but i think you've learned a lesson from it. i still think you're an amazing artist with a great ton of potential, and personally, you've always been nice to me.

i'm just sorry to see that it blew up like this. drama isn't fun.

this whole thing started because i was unhappy with my art.
second'd to katy's second comment.
we all learn'd, lesson's good, no more bad stuff and we can move on and grow as artists and better people~
good luck on your future endeavors, and don't let this stop you from any kind of drawing or whatev, k? shit gets bumpy and hopefully this just strengthens your resolve to be a better artist of your own design.

all this makes me want to stop drawing all together.
Umm... Yeah. Hi. :3

I think I found your arts through Furc a while back and I've been watching you since then. (Sounds creepy! I mean +devwatch.) But I just wanted to say that personally I don't give two shakes if somebody traces. I know I have, though usually it's from stock/reference photos and not someone else's artwork (especially for difficult poses or animals I don't draw often), and I try to give credit in the description. (I just call them "references." Shh don't tell. XD) But yeah, everybody's done it at some point, you just happened to post yours to DA and kind of let people assume they were original. Mistakes happen. But I've seen your artwork, especially your digital paintings (which are kind of not traceable) progress in quality since I first added you, and that's worth something, right?

What pisses me off are the genuine art thieves, the ones that go around reposting other people's art with a different filename and claiming it as their own. Besides being unforgivably scummy, that really enrages people and fuels their tracer-hating madness! I don't know all that was said to you but I can certainly imagine how hurtful someone might be on the conscience-obliterating internet, driven by their own self-righteousness. My advice: don't feed the trolls! You were ballsy enough to step forward and admit your mistake and apologize, and that's plenty good enough for me. Eventually the flamers will get bored and go find someone else to be mad at.

Meanwhile you walk away with more pageviews, and your technique has improved on top of that! =D

Keep up the good artsin'.
Thank you very much for the positive feedback and advice. It is very much appreciated. <3
