Yeah Death Note has been really popular on DA and a lot of other places. I should check it out. I've seen a couple of the episodes, but never in chronological order, so, needless to say, I have no idea what's going on. Lol... I'm more of a Bleach girl myself, it's what really got me into anime too. And yeah, they never actually look Japanese, but that's ok with me. I mean, who doesn't love blue, purple, red, and neon orange hair?
My older brother likes that show alot too, and I'm pretty sure he's wacthed the whole thing.
Personally I'm not mush on it though, I've heard the story and it's just nt really my kind of thing.

Oh, I love Death Note! The plot is brilliant and so in depth. If you like the manga, I highly suggest reading a book that has recently come out called Death Note: Another Note- The Los Angelos BB Murder Cases. Long name, but a great read, and just as intricate (and perhaps even more unpredictable) than the manga.

Its a pretty awesome series I read up until volume 3 of the manga, then I started watching the anime. I'm pretty far in, but I won't say nothing.
Ryuk is my fave character. L and Light are overrated XD

Don't feel bad about lack of Japanese language. Personally, I can't stand it when people say randon Japanese words in English sentences. Ex: "That's so kawaii!" instead of "That's so cute!" B(
Howl's Moving Castle=much love. If you're looking for another good anime, I highly reccomend Hellsing. Its style is very unique and the story rocks and is my personal fave among all animes/mangas.
