Yeah, I'm not the least bit impressed that they're doing this.
It's sort of ironic, that dA seems to pride themselves in not having "pornographic images" on their website, yet they perfectly happy to promote and work with a porn site like this.
I'm making a point of adding a trifle more viva le picnic/boycott SG in my journal, though. Best of luck to you and Apnea with all of this shit, I really hope it can be over and done with soon, I miss your work.

I came up with a news article, put all the thumbnails in it, buried the article so young kids couldn't stumble across it, and did an ad swap with SG. Our banner that was up on their site linked directly to the fetish print feature and helped artists sell prints. Quite a few of them actually as SG is a better market to sell things like that.
And they have an audience that has money, and at that point in time the dA community was pretty notoriously broke and not really buying any prints. So I set out to do whatever I possibly could to help artists get their work out there. It also marks the *only* time that dA has put a banner up on any site anywhere.
So there, that's the whole wacky conspiracy for you. And it was due to connections I made back then that has kept me on friendly terms with people there and we shoot the shit occasionally. Which is how we have gotten into running just small scale little community based contests, and how we ended up over at their office and had two SG's shoot photos for us.
No big business schemes, no wads of cash and contracts changing hands. Just people hanging out and coming up with little things to do for the fun of it.
