Custom design fanart plush take 50+ hours to produce. Even at minimum wage (set at 8.50US), that'd cost $425US.

If these people want you to charge less for your work, just tell them to go to hell. :)

I don't blame you at all for reacting this way, because more often than not, those pity stories are complete bullshit coming from people who just want to slip by.

If anyone has honestly used a terrible disease/deformation, horrible accident, or bedridden family member as an excuse to get what they want, they don't deserve what they wanted. At all.

It's your business, you make a living off of it. You work hard, as I and anyone else with half a brain can plainly see. There is no reason for you to give discounts to anyone who asks.

To everyone that's sent you a note along those lines: "Screw off."

"Hey jerks. Can I watch you two jerks do your jerk bending?"

a cell fan girl and i am proud to be one
Mmmhmm, I totally respect that, some people don't realise how time consuming it is to make plushies and your are all really complex looking!! Not to mention the amount of material and stuffing it must take!!
I think your prices are REALLY fair, actually like you said, a lot less than you should be charging. Maybe this journal will help people notice how you feel and hopefully they'll change their selfish ways!!

XD LOL
I seriously felt like chucking a tissue box at some peeps

I used to let it bother me a lot -- how stoopid that was! *bangs head* Live & learn, I guess. *shrugs*
But thanks to peeps like you  and support from my friends I know better these days. I'm better off for it if I can just laugh it all off.
Some of my co-workers who have had the privilege of watching me in action (I bring my sewing kits to work & sew on breaks) -- they still have the nerve to complain. I just threaten to stick needles in their seats if they keep it up. XD (I do it with a big grin on my face).

Hugs to you!! :D :glomp:

If people were smart, then they would read up on all the entries you post about how prices and everything work so they would know what they were getting themselves into. -_-
It's your work, your rules. Personally, I think your pricing is very reasonable considering you make them all completely by hand and even the patterns are made specifically by you for the plushies. You'd think it's not that hard to see that the plushies you make aren't a thing like the cheap-o quality plushies you can get at toy stores, but with the questions people ask you it seems like everyone is selling their common sense and not saving any of it to buy the things they want. <_<

Dunno if it's old or not... I couldn't help but notice the mention of listening to Mutemath. ^^

^^; bleh.... it doesn't seem to matter how much I try to explain it, there's always going to be someone who's going to try something pathetic
and I know it happens to a lot of plushmakers -- some who have sadly given up plushing all together because of inconsiderate peeps ;_; :(

I try to vent it off in journals or something before I send a "rude" reply (if you can call it "rude") in the lines of "Bwahahahahahah! And you expect me to care how?"
Followed with a bunch of these emoticons -->

But seriously, I'm not a care-giver persay and how am I supposed to really care when that's not in my business to do so *shrug* oh well...

From the looks of your work, they're worth every penny. I suppose some people don't understand the time, materials, and expertise that goes into self-patterned, jointed plushes. Not to mention utter bravery... O_O

Even though I can't justify spending that much money on a unique, adorable PlushBot right now either, I've got a little fund going for him. I think it'll add up to one by next summer. ^.^

Oh man, I hate it when people do that. Someone also asked me about shipping prices and said "That's too high", well sorry that's how much it COSTS. Jesus people irritate the shit outta me. Same with wig commissioners, they get a lot of shit from people. They don't' understand the time, patience, and money it takes just to make them. Sometimes a commission isn't worth it because you're not making squat. I remember charging 80 for the Meliene plush I made from Odin Sphere and I only made like 10 bucks from it since I had to buy all the materials. Luckily the costumer wasn't a douche and understood why it cost so much.

Ah, I feel for you. :[ Seeing as how I'm still working on a Blade Liger plushie(I started this back in September 07, and I still am experimenting with patterns XD), I think I can understand how hard you work on the squishy things.

I don't blame you for this entry, I say "Go for it!". From what I see, your plushies are incredible, and the price is fair, seeing as how you put a lot of work into them.

(Also, Mutemath for the win. :3)
