I agree 100%. There was nothing wrong with the way this contest was handled. I also don't see a problem with mods participating in a exclusively community voted contest. I also don't see a problem with a mod participating in a moderator judged contest as long as they are not the mod doing the judging (Ok that was a convoluted sentence, I know). As long as the provision that existed in the first contest is continued, that being the inability to vote for one's own deviation, then that would be ok. This of course makes sense since there would be a tie between all entries otherwise (or perhaps the majority). I mean how can a mod win if everyone votes for their fav and not their own, even if people are voting for their friends, it still doesn't tip the scale since having one's friends vote wouldn't guarantee a win. As for those who are paranoid enough to think the mods of :devnewfounland: wouldn't count the votes fairly, well... I guess you will just have to trust them, or not participate. Simple.

Anyone should be able to enter, including the mods, because you just never know who may have the best submittion for the contest. Mods should be able to win prizes too.
I just want to jump right in here and .. be a complete sheep. I'm with =random-event on this one, and he put it much better than I could. The mods should be allowed to enter into the contests on the community. They're part of the community, afterall! Unless =northernmist and =Barastol really want to be Evil Overlords, that it, I mean, far be it for me to put a stop to their plans for world domination.
One suspects teaching an old dog how to play dead would be a heck of a lot less challenging than getting a guy to do things that women want them to do.
Thanks =random-event We will make a set of guidelines for the contests, to clearly spell out the group policies, and by entering people will by default agree to these.
I've recently joined a few other groups, and I'm looking at their contest rules, and seeing which aspects we will use for ours.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Although `DEVlANT joined our community only a year ago, he's made sure to make his mark in as many ways as possible. His inquisitive mind and enthusiastic personality is reflected in every part of the community which he reaches out to. Always eager to bring suggestions and feedback to us in a positive way, `DEVlANT shows a maturity way beyond his years. It's with great pleasure that we award very first Deviousness of 2010 t...
