I went from Photoshop 7 to CS1 to CS2
they are all pretty much the same just that CS2 the latest version has more filters, effects and etc.
Altho some of the filters dont come with photoshop, you gotta buy separately, which I SOMETIMEs use.
I pretty much use brushes and put them on different modes, mostly Multiply and linear dodge xD, trick is you gotta set your brush flow to a lower percentage
Someday ill explain...when i are not teh lazy laz... XD

Nah it wouldn't help me. I have Photoshop 6.0 ('cuz I stole it from my boyfriend, but shhh!!) which has basic brush settings. (In short, it has diameter and spacing, that's IT) I have Paint Shop Pro 9.0 too, but it's not like Photoshop(that one I actually bought 'cuz it was only 100$ 
) I won't be getting a job for a long time and it's 600$ not worth spending if I'm not gonna be an art major. So sad, wish I knew people with CS. Do you know where you can download it *coughhackillegallycoughhack* or something? >_< Or did you buy all of yours? 0_0
I'm not really that bad of a person if this makes me sound like a horrible law breaker. >_<;
