Comment on GIMP brush - calligraphy by barefootliam
Hmmm, this GIMP seems interesting, as heared about it's free version just a week ago and ofcourse I thought I was stupid I once bought Photoshop !! - Still I bought alot more than hjust a tool to edit pics. Calliagraphy is pretty effect, but why to put so much time on how the text looks, as the reader understand, or either don't understand what the writer had thought... For headlines, cards and other decorations, this style looks good... The shading and background looks good, but I'd take a pen, write and then scan the text to add effects.
Why take time to produce something beautiful by hand when a machine cn make something functional in a fraction of the time? Art. Why would anyone paint a picture of a scene when a photograph will do as well instead? 
Usally I do write with a pen on paper, sometimes a felt pen and sometimes pen and ink.
PhotoShop is more powerful and more polished than GIMP.
