I'm totally against making my characters too powerful. I always give them some obvious weakness, be it something physical or an aspect of their personality that can be easily exploited. Every single one of my OCs can be easily defeated, if you just know how to go about it.

Well, she'd probably be a spoiled brat if it wasn't for Odyssey constantly bossing her around. Having a cousin like that would keep anyone's ego in check.

It's a good plan to have. No one really enjoys God-like characters. Well, unless they're big climactic villains, or Digimon.

I used to be such a huge fan of Digimon when I was a kid. Then they went and made all the new versions that just weren't as good. But I used to watch the show every Saturday morning. It's what got me interested in anime, which in turn got me interested in drawing!
And I will admit to having one all powerful character, but she's like, the final climactic villain of the entire story-arc, so it doesn't really count.
I kinda feel sorry for her, with Odder around all the time. Oh, and you wanted a name, right? Her real name is Medley Leucosia, but her stage name is "Medusa", and that's what everyone calls her. Except for Odyssey, who calls her "Meddy".

I'm happy to say I've always been interested in drawing, but I've also always watched cartoons, so they undoubtedly have had some effect on my creations. Except for my animals. Those are all mine and no one is allowed to claim an influence on them!
There, see, that's alright because that's exactly where all-powerful characters are SUPPOSED to be used! Otherwise they'd kill all the heroes and rule the world or just become cliche. So I agree, it doesn't count. ^^

Including a girl named Bob and a boy named Vicky. (Most of these nicknames aren't exactly canon and will never see the light of day.) And we draw from all sorts of sources when naming our characters, including mythology, pop culture, and foreign languages. Almost everyone's name has meaning of some sort.

You can't really say that about the stuff you drew as a kid, because of course EVERYONE was a terrible artist as a kid! Some people just had a bit more talent than others!

Well, my drawings were funny, anyway. I kept most of them because I just crack up every time I see them.
Short for Barbara and Victor.
Well, keep in mind these are just their surnames. They're Japanese-american, so we got their names from the Japanese language. "Ten" is japanese for a cultivated rice field, and "Hakumai" is a type of white rice, showing that they're partners and one can't work without the other. But "ten" is also a play off the spanish word "tener", meaning, "to see", and has to do with a particular power he has.
