You're right about Columbia. I only knew of 1 B-Girl in Columbia. She use to work at Manifest. However ATL is a different story. I've seen a bunch around here. This pic is based on one I see all the time down town. She had an article written about her a few weeks ago in Creative Loafing.

You know, I just realized we've both lived in Columbia and now in ATL, are you following me. lol.

Manifest used to be my spot! I also was a big supporter of Sounds Familiar, which my dad told me was closing down due to the shitty economy and everyone bootlegging music on the internet for free.

I don't recall seeing the B Girl at Manifest any of the times I've gone in there. Hell, I don't recall seeing any breakers of any sort around Columbia! That's part of the reason why I had to get out of there...TRUE Hip Hop has NO place in Columbia. (Plus I grew up in Columbia...that city is a black hole!)

Ah...so you're here in "tha A" as well? Yeah...I'm following you! :lmao: What part do you stay in? I'm in Smyrna myself...only been here for about 2 1/2 months now. Do you know of any Underground/Ol' Skool Hip Hop spots around this place? I've heard about someplace called MJC's and I've been to Apache Cafe on Tues night for Hip Hop night. I'm all about True Hip Hop and supporting it...I would love to go and see the B-Boys and B-Girls getting down while listening to some dope music...not that shit they play on the radio!

I loved Manifest because they always had live bands coming by. I remember seeing a bunch of bands for free and then a few months later they are blowing up the radio. I didn't care too much for Sounds Familiar. and you sound like my wife, she HATED Columbia.

as for ATL, I've only been here for 4-5 months, so I haven't been here very long. and I have 2 small children so there isn't much going out for me so I have no idea where the good Hip Hop clubs are, but I'll keep my ears open and let you know. oh, and I'm in the Sandy Springs area.

Manifest had a much better selection than Sounds Familiar did, only thing is I lived over in the Forest Acres area and it was across town...it wasn't that far away but Sound Familiar was much closer. Plus my homie and local emcee Preach worked at SF and he always kept me up to speed with the dopest new music coming out.

Well, Columbia aint that bad...but you know how it is growing up in a city all your life. Plus, I had escaped once when I went to college, then I moved to NC, and I unexpectedly had to come back to Cola. Yeah, compared to Charleston, Greensboro, and now ATL...Columbia sucks!

I feel you with the kids and not being able to go out. I've only been here since Nov. 4 myself and I'm just now starting to get settled and adapt to my new surroundings...coming from Cola it's definitely been a culture shock!

Fores Acres sounds familiar. is that over near Rosewood and Garners Ferry?

Very close to it...it's between Two Notch and Beltline and stretches out as far to Decker Blvd. I actually lived off of Pine Belt Rd. which is the same street where Keenan High School used to be (they're making it into a middle school now) and right off of Two Notch Rd.

oh okay. I know where that area is.
