Wow you might have just implanted a thought in my head that will grow to an idea to add some sort of framage to me future works. Thanks for the advice I see what you are saying.
White matting is the industry standard for B&W photographs. Just check any museum/gallery. I use black matting because...well...because I ain't normal 
I like your style of black matting! Seriously considering borders soon although I feel it'd be a tough transition for me to get used to just because I haven't ever.
