i sorta cheated...
i bought those gloves they sell for darth vadar or pirates... i cut the strap with the buckle off, took off like 4 inches on them to make the proper length, then painted the apropriate color. hope this helps!

Actually. I used to work at Party City and we sold those Darth Vader gloves. Every time I walked by them, I got that crazy thought in the back of my head that I could use these for Cid gloves if the material would take paint. Now, I think I'm going to try it. XD Thanks a lot!
the trick is the type of paint... use a fabric or preferably a leather paint since it is flexible!
