actually according to the wiki: Castlevania 64, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon were intended from the very start to be gaidens to the Castlevania storyline. Gaidens are basically the Japanese meaning of spin offs of an official product.

Yes, that is true. But then again, the lowest rated Castlevania game ever(Castlevania Adventure for GameBoy-2 out of 10 back in 1989 Nintendo Power and other game publications) is still part of the Canon story(as well as featured in your dev.)
