I really admire this piece. Here, you have represented both the destroying nature of Desire and the creature's perfection. By juxtaposing soft features with sharp talons and reptiles, and counteracting the darkness of the piece with gold and silver hues, you create a mood that goes beyond melancholy. The work has a visual language of its own.
I don't think I've ever seen the darker aspect of Desire represented quite in this way. As s/he often seems misunderstood and misconstrued as the most frivolous and carefree of The Endless, this is a refreshing look at the true depth of the character. This artwork evokes images of Despair, quite appropriately given their relationship as twins, and the crueler, but still ultimately beautiful, facets of Desire.
This is emotive, painful, symbolic and a joy to look at. Well done. Need I say more?
