The chalk coloring came about as an impulsive accident.

I used a chalk pastel, and colored in the darkest areas, intending to leave the lighter parts white, but when I went to blow the dust off it gathered on the white sections.
Which is where I got my idea. I used a dry makeup brush to feather the dust onto the white areas, creating the highlights.
