Your response is the EXACT reason why I don't intend to use these kind of jokes often; they rely on the readers' experience with a particular subject. It's a slightly easier route to take but more people will scratch their head in confusion because they didn't watch a movie or read a book. But this was too good to pass up as my Dad can be unintentionally funny at times.
It's funny, I've been told by one person to focus more on the visuals and they're probably right because of supposedly "weak" dialogue. Guess I'm gonna have to strengthen both. Thanks again for the comment.
