I like "blacksmith" - it makes it sound like the hard muscular work that it often feels like!
I like 'blacksmith' better too 
'cause I think you need to strike while it's hot and fortune often comes unexpected and sometimes fast
and I like the idea better of 'hammering' my fortune the way I like it instead of 'building' some, 'cause that implicates to me you 'building' sth new which haven't been there before while you 'hammering' sth that has come to you and you just need to form it to your needs - I believe in sth surrounding us all something greater and all of us can have a piece of it if you only take your chance
