that's so cool, i always wanted to study cinematography but then did something more "sensibe" but after all these years ended up doing writing and photography, so, I might as well have done what I originally intended :D
i am so sorry to hear that about people, but have to say that i am not surprised. not only is film a cut-throat business, it depends on who you meet as well as on who you are, and i found that there is a lot of nepotism, and some people, if their parents are from the industry, have a wonderful time, while others have to struggle so hard, despite their talent.
and it is not easy to carry everything on your back (not to mention needing to earn some real money in order to pay the bills)...
I migrated from former Yugoslavia so we used to be neighbours! but i've never been to Romania so if I ever come that way, I'll make sure I let you know :) it would be awesome to go on a photo-walk around your city or something :)

Writing might get you in the script/directing area :D photography into the image department, choose your pick and take the leap! :)
Ah.. the people discussion is just so .. big i guess..
And of course, if you are close nearby, a meeting would be in order!

if I were only brave enough... perhaps one day I will b :) i should really write that book first. all that is so new to me, thinking outside the box of my primary career, it's quite scary, like you feel abut the discussion about people, way too big :D
