If I remember right, all Uruk-hai were played by women, because they had to have a special movement; like they were limber, but driven by momentum. I might be wrong though.
I believe you're confusing the Uruk-Hai with the Aliens from Signs.

Actually, as much as I`ve heard, the so-called "Breeder Orcs" seen in the 1st movie at the mud pits were played by women.
