I know, I'm sure they would go "What was I thinking!?" And that's what I thought after a few years of pairing Zim and my OC many years ago. What WAS I thinking!? I know I was immature and didn't realize how bad (and generic) of a plot story line that was and after a few people told me Zima was a mary sue I worked on her character development. 
I think some of these kids actually need to be told that their OCs really need some character development which will smack them upside the head and make em grow up. P:

Haha, I'm glad you admitted that! XD Now that you say so.. I did think Zim was pretty cute. Still sorta do, but I take that sort of thing more for a joke these days. I don't say it much because I really don't want to confuse anyone or anything. Same went for me and.. Grim from Billy and Mandy 
I always felt strange when it came to imagining the fictional relationships, so I never went so far.
Oh, but you know what? A lot of the ones I know of, if you said anything to them, it'll just go through to them as "Aahh, you're bashing me for my fandom! Bitch! I'm going to make my friends hate you!" sort of thing. I shall just rely on time xD

Oh it's normal don't worry about it. Everyone had at least a crush on some cartoon character in their lifetime. 
Well that's kinda sad that they'd get so defensive but that's what people on a low maturity level would do when someone would explain to them why their character needs some character development.

No, more like anybody at all would come in to see the Mary-sueart/fanfics/etc, because well.. it's like you go in to see someone's piece, and it's a Mary-Sue, and you just leave and not show so much your appreciation for it. As in, more views would come from more believable characters. Sometimes I don't type much sense when I'm listening to music at the same time

I understand now, don't worry. I get the same thing, I usually try to turn off my music if I'm gonna chat or talk to people online cause I can't seem to do both at the same time XD
