What lens do you have? I'm thinking about Sigma 70-300, macro or something like that, but it must be 70-300 or more

What's your budget? The Sigma is a good lens, and VR lenses don't help at all for macro shots. The glass is everything. Why the focal length requirements?

Yeah, I know, I don't need VR. Now I have 18-55 mm and it's still too small for me and also except macro I take portrait shots. After all it isn't big difference between prices of 55-200 and 70-300 mm so the bigger the better, don't you think? :>

True, you'll get distance with a 70-300mm lens. The Sigma looks like a great lens. You might search on some shots at Flickr (or here if you can search on lenses) and check the bokeh for that lens.
Sure, I've got some time till I buy it so I'll check out all alternatives
