Just thought of something, having reread the comic... Much earlier, Professor Nero stated that he lost someone, likely a pokemon. And, here, in this page, Aodan mentions how memories tend to linger, even if shoved into the back of your head. That makes me think, it IS possible that Aodan once belonged to Professor Nero. He never said he didn't believe Cole, and, if he knew what Nero was like, he could ahve figured out it may have been an experiment. And that way, better believe Cole when he head it.

But, that's just one of the many Aodan theories out ther. So, I guess I just added to the list... Oo
