Nelaros does get the short end of the stick, I think; if you play as a male city elf, your bride lives and you can bid her farewell after the ordeal. If you play as a female, Nelaros always dies. Poor dude.
Yeah! I played as a City Elf Male the other night, just to see what it was like. I thought my wife-to-be was going to get killed, but then she didn't! I was so happy, but then she didn't even kiss my guy farewell.
