do you adjust the neutrals, or the shadows and highlights as well? or it does not matter?
do you use colour dodge as well? and with the settings, that is the layer's settings, or the brush settings?

sorry for asking so many detail questions, but i have been doing a lot of black and white art lately and i can't seem to get the colour version to look right!

yes try adjusting all 3 for best results. i use color dodge if there is very intense light. i use a combination of layer and brush settings. use brush settings if working on an existing layer, and layer setting if creating a brand new layer.

does it matters if i use a brush set to normal
on a colour layer, or a colour layer on the colour layer?

thank you for your help :thanks:

The best advice i can give regarding all that is just to play around with it. I dont have a set way of doing things, a lot of it as i go. I always just switch off between brush and layers modes till I get results I can work with. But yes if your on a special layer mode then use a normal brush mode. special brush mode for a normal layer.
