I really like this. It does lend itself well to that tale, as you say, and there's a sort of rich irony that Number One isn't the snow queen in this istance, given her cool demeanor.
When the challenge came up, I was struck by how closely "The Cage" parallels Andersen's story in so many ways. Particularly the way Gerda rescues Kai.
