hands down the best group art shot I have seen of Jeffrey Hunter, Amanda Jones, Majel Barrett, and the Talosians. The Cage is my favorite episode from this series. Margaret Wander Bonnano wrote Burning Dreams - a continuation of Pike and Vina after the Menagerie two parter (only two part episode from the respective series).
Yes the real Vina looks quite different, but that's the result of Talosians knowing nothing about humans when they first encounter her following the ship's crash on Talos years before happening upon the burnt out Christopher Pike.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I actually prefer "Vulcan's Glory" by Dorothy Fontana to all the other Pike-ea novels and comics. Also, I think you meant Susan Oliver (the actor who played Vina in "The Cage").
My pleasure. Back in the day, she went by D.C. Fontana (that's how she was listed on the credits) though it might be redundant to say this to anyone familiar with Trek history. Yes, Susan... its been awhile so I forgot who the actress, but not the character naturally. I think Majel was actually her body double when the Talosians had her looking like an Orion woman and Majel is taller than her too.
Its been awhile since I read any Trek novels written by those who were a part of the series from its inception. The Menagerie was original introduction to these characters (i.e. Christopher Pike, Vina, and Number One).
