Sounds like you've never had the pleasure of working on a 3D production

Believe me, CG movies haven't been any pleasure to me anymore, so what makes you think I would even want to do one now?

Because it's very naive to hate something when you have absolutely no experience working with it

All I know is that I'm fed up with CGI and would much rather pursue the art of 2D animation for myself, cause I've always cared about that more than CGI. I have no desire to ever let myself be another one of the many people working in CGI who willingly help studios in their whole agenda of phasing out 2D animation.

Where are you getting that animation studios are bent on destroying 2D animation? If you had done proper research, you would know that 3D productions use 2D a lot in order to visualize some sequences that would be otherwise difficult to do straight off the computer. In order to even be considered for a job in the CGI animation field, you HAVE to understand 2D animation and its principles because it all applies to 3D animation as well. 2D animation isn't dead, just not as popular right now. It's no different from how older cartoons were done entirely by traditional means compared to now where many TV cartoons are done with Flash.
I'm not trying to change your opinion, but at least let your opinion on 3D animation be an educated one.

But they're still not 2D movies. They're just taking the place of real 2D movies. Having some hand drawn animation tests done for Wreck-It Ralph for example did not make that movie a 2D film.

And for the record, I also think traditional animation is better than Flash.

Well you are clearly very close minded when it comes to the various mediums of animation and there is no way I can change that. If you actually end up pursuing a career in animation, I wish you luck because you will be looking at a lot of what you hate.

I know, which is why I don't plan on pursuing a real career in the animation industry as long as it's in it's current state. As a kid I would have loved to be a 2D animator at Disney one day, but the Disney of today is ruining that for me. As of now I'm only trying to pursue my interests in cartooning independently right here on DeviantART.
