Well, if you wanna look at it that way... I think he should be proud of his job. While there's the downside of going through the pain of losing a limb for his comrades, he gets to give them back their options!

Lol, well, that's only part of it XD He basically spends his time monitoring the reactions the magick users have to their magick. Some of the magicks are really rare and rather unknown, like Lily is the only Dark user, and Jake is the only Light user. Everytime Jake uses his powers, it has a tendency to cause him to collapse, so he gets stuck getting monitored by Leo, alot XD His old partner was the one mainly in charge of design the prosthetic limbs for Houren, but he helped (and then his old partner got turned into a lycanthrope and had to be killed, hahaha XD )
