Thinking deeply in the concept, constructing 10 or 12 of these supertanks by the cost of a battleship has more sense, as they can only be destroyed by enemy fire by direct impact of a heavy calibre armor-piercing gun shell or heavy aerial bomb, and this supertank presents a smaller target than a battleship in the sea. Also, contrary to a heavy cruiser or battleship, it cannot be sunk on land, so the crew can manage to escape or can be rescued if supertank is disabled on enemy territory. Compared to a sea ship, the land ship worth his price!

You make some really interesting points there, it would be difficult to destroy from enemy tanks and artillery, and as a result would become invaluable on a land battle. The downside is its vulnerability to air attack with a heavy aerial bomb as you say, due to its size it could be easily spotted from the air and its four anti aircraft guns probably wouldn't be able to do much to stop such an attack.

I can see it working when Germany actually had an airforce in 1940-42, but without air-cover its capabilities would have been limited.
